* The 2010 Dinner Theatre was held May 6 & 7 at the East Martin Christian School Gymnasium *

A good old fashioned church potluck took a very ugly turn when the pastor of the host church suddenly turned up dead. Add to that a shortage of marshmallow green salad and you have Murder, Mayhem, and Marshmallow Salad, this year’s dinner theater. The “congregation” had many suspects to choose from including, Tess, the church know-it-all; The Reverend Peter Piper Porcupine, a visiting, unemployed, politician-like pastor campaigning for a job; Mrs. Molly Devaro Keal, the pastor’s southern, flamboyant wife who is overbearing; and M.T. Sockett, the head trustee of the church whom the pastor suspects is stealing from the church cashbox. Combine this out of the ordinary group of characters with a church musician who has her own style and you have the makings of an eventful evening.

A fantastic meal of baked potato and chicken was prepared by EMCHS students and staff. By the end of the evening the mystery was solved and everyone could go home to a restful night’s sleep knowing that the pastor’s passing was the result of a malfunctioning coffee pot and the poor man was electrocuted!
